Here is the email sent to all of us by Daphne :

Ok basically this email will be about your roles for the preparation for IU day.

Making the country’s flag: Amanda, Huilin, MingHan, Jia Wei, JianQiu, Mengmei

These people have to draw on mahjong paper or use recycled materials to do up the flag of Nauru (This flag will be pasted above our front door) So please try to do it well!

Making Souvenirs: Xiu Ting, Penglu, Ryan, Maverick, Jolene

The souvenirs must represent ANY aspect of Nauru. (eg. For Singapore: colours- red and white, symbol- stars and crescent or Merlion) Please make at least 6 of the souvenirs for the judges.

Suggestions for the souvenirs: Bookmarks, decorated ice cream sticks or mini flags etc.

Presentation Slides: Germaine, Elin, JenWei (It is advised on the paper to have only 2 or 3 ppl doing on this)

Have to prepare a 2-3 minutes presentation about Nauru. Content is to include relevant info on Nauru and Nauru’s sport. Avoid sound effects or programmed music.
Germaine, Elin and Jenwei, your have to be prepared for ANY QnA by the judges and please do not read from screen.

Games and Activities: JinYan, Rachel, Tania, Joeline Ang, Jia Hui, Yiling, Wei Jie

Game should be a representative of Nauru. ALL visitors MUST have a go at the games. As the classroom is small, your have to remember to scale down the game APPROPRIATELY! Eg. Soccer is not allowed! Please include prizes(You can claim from class funds)

Exhibits Booth: Chai Ting, Xin Ying, Fan Shuen, Nicholas, Eugene, Andy, Xu Yang, Teri

This booth has to contain relevant displays, pictures and information on Nauru and its culture. It will also be good if there are foods!

Suggestions for your exhibits: Posters, artwork, banners, books, stamps etc.

Daphne will be making 11 gifts for the gifts exhange.

I hope you all will put in the effort and TRY to make it as pretty as possible. And I am very sorry for having to make you all do all this but I seriously have no choice. In your own groups, your might want to meet up or contact each other. Thank you.
P.S. Anyone who has Teri’s number, can you please inform her about this email and her duties. Thanks

Anyone in your free time can you please make a few posters on Nauru? Cause we still need to decorate the class.
